I will soon be leaving for a trip soon and I would like to buy a new camera. I'm looking for something in the $200 to $250 range that will be easy to use, but not necessarily a simple point and click.

Ideally, I'd like something small enough to travel with, but large enough to feel like a real camera. A zoom lense would be tremendous, with decent sharpness and with enough memory to take pictures for a week. I suppose I could change chips, but I know nothing about this sort of thing. Is there a lot of memory available in an existing camera?

Any recommendations? I've looked at a Nikon Coolpix L100, but I bet there's more camera out there for the same money.
